What Is VITA?

VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. It's a program run by the IRS (the government tax agency). IRS-trained volunteers prepare your taxes for free. Every return is checked for quality before it's filed, so you can trust it's done right.

What We Can Help With

  • Wages and income (W-2, 1099)
  • Tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit
  • Basic deductions
  • Getting your refund by direct deposit

Some tax returns are too complex for VITA. If yours is, we'll let you know and point you in the right direction.
